2021 Howe TA2 Mustang
Up for sale is one of Trans Am's most well known cars affectionately dubbed 'Jellybean'. It's the championship winning car from 2021, which made it's debut in the Sydney round (5) of that season. The car had done 2 rounds and a test day in 2021 before retiring to the Bathurst Motor Museum where it was kept for the best part of 3 years. The car returned to action in 2024 from Round 2 onwards after a complete rebuild under the Nathan Herne Racing umbrella with full service and maintenance history provided since then. It was transformed from a Dodge to Ford Mustang in July of 2024 where it won the first race back after going under the knife. It most recently finished 2nd in the championship, winning the penultimate round and charging from 28th to 5th in 6 laps at Adelaide.
To the best of my knowledge this would be one of the only if not very few cars that have been displayed in the museum for a long period of time and returned as a competitive front-running car in any National Series.
The car is currently in the midst of a full off-season rebuild and will be completely serviced and ready to race upon pickup. To the same standard all of our cars are prepped to. Full checklists and rebuild sheets will be provided with the car with a track setup if requested.
Engine is low mileage with an expected life of 2 seasons before rebuild, Hollinger Gearbox and Diff are both freshly rebuilt with 0km. All high-stress and fatiguable suspension pickup points have been replaced throughout and after the 500 weekend with a deep check over the entire car post event.
