Trans Am Cup Series returns to Queensland Raceway

19 August 2026

The Trans Am Cup Series returns to Queensland Raceway this weekend for the first time in two years, with 22 cars confirmed to compete at the famous Ipswich circuit from August 21-23.

The series will compete alongside the Repco Supercars Championship as part of the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440.

Queensland driver Jarrod Hughes holds an eight-point lead over Nathan Herne, while Todd Hazelwood—who considers Queensland Raceway his home circuit—sits third in the standings, just two points clear of GRM’s James Moffat after Moffat received a post-race penalty for contact during the final race at Wanneroo.

Des Collier, Tyler Cheney, Brock Paine and Coleby Cowham will go head-to-head in the Pro-Am class this weekend. Just nine points separate Collier and Cheney at the top of the standings, while Cowham will become the first driver to enter a Dodge Challenger in the Trans Am Cup Series in 2026.

Nash Morris and Alice Buckley are among six TA2 Series drivers—including Collier, Paine, Cheney and Cowham—who competed at Queensland Raceway last weekend and now enjoy plenty of track knowledge ahead of the weekend.

Tim Blanchard heads into the weekend on a high and will look to carry his momentum from Perth, where late penalties promoted him to his maiden Trans Am Cup Series podium.

Cody Brewczynski also returns with Ash Jarvis Racing after the team repaired his #22 Mustang following his heavy 250km/h accident in Darwin.

A familiar face in the Trans Am Cup Series, Elliott Cleary makes his 2026 debut this weekend, stepping into Maverick Performance's #2 Racer Industries Mustang in place of Adam Garwood, who is sidelined by work commitments. It marks Cleary's first start since Darwin in 2025.

Tasmanian Harrison Sellars will be chasing a strong result after his Perth campaign ended in the sand trap during the final race. Sellars returns with a new engine fitted by HCC Distribution between the events.

Series regulars Ben Bargwanna, Clay Richards, Lachlan Evennett, Blake Tracey, Tom Davies and Jack Smith and Jordan Freestone also return to make up a talent stacked field.

Fans can catch all the action live on Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.
